For Clients that are unable to comfortably lay down on the massage table, an alternate method for providing Reiki is requesting the Client to sit comfortably in a chair to receive their treatment. Seated treatments often take less time than full treatments on a massage table. The chair used does not matter, as long as the Client sits comfortably and the Practitioner can be comfortable while giving the treatment.
Reiki hand positions work very well for treating a Client who is sitting upright in a chair. The Client's feet are on the floor uncrossed and their hands are placed on each leg. This method also allows the Practitioner to address the Chakras and provide Reiki on the Client while seated.
